Through New Hope Homes, CALM reaches out to the East African community to share the love of Christ by building homes that free orphans and abandoned children from poverty and despair. New Hope Homes provides a loving, nurturing and stable environment that will ensure that the children in need will have their spiritual, emotional, medical and educational needs met.
Children usually enter the homes from birth to 5 years old. Each home has a widow who serves as a mommy to the children and 3-4 younger women who serve as aunties and tend to the cooking, cleaning and basic needs of the children. In addition, a night watchman guards the house to provide security for the home and people living within it.
